Reciprocal Borrowing Policy

The Anderson County Library offers residents of Abbeville, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens counties borrowing privileges for all circulating materials at all service points. Upon application, the reciprocal borrower must present a valid form of picture identification and proof of current address.

There will be no charge for this service, but borrowers are expected to abide by the rules of the Anderson County Library system, just as residents of Anderson County will abide by the rules of the cooperating library.

An ACL Library card will be mailed to the reciprocal borrower. This card will be good for two years and may be renewed.

The libraries of Abbeville, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens counties will offer borrowing privileges for Anderson County residents under these same rules.

Reciprocal borrowers have free access only to Anderson County Library materials. Reciprocal borrowers are not eligible for Interlibrary loan. To access consortium materials (SCLends), the borrower must pay the current per capita Anderson County tax rate each year.

Reciprocal Borrowers may not borrow eBooks from our library system unless the borrower pays the current per capita Anderson County tax rate each year.
