Book Spine Poetry for Teens


Teens – unleash your story! Enter the Book Spine Poetry Contest now through November 26. Here’s how:

  1. Compose a poem using 3-8 books from your public, school, or personal library.
  2. Take a picture of your poem. You can submit up to 3 different poems.
  3. Enter your information and upload your photo in the form below. This information is not shared nor made public and is only used to contact entrants by the Library.

Your submission means you are granting Anderson County Library the right to use the materials as we wish. Submissions are due by Sunday, November 26th. The contest is open to all Anderson County residents ages 12-18. You must use a minimum of three books and no more than eight. You can enter up to 3 poems. One poem will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries for a $50.00 gift card to Target. Two runners up will also be randomly selected to each receive a $25 gift card to Target. The winner and runners up will be announced on December 11 at the Book Spine Poetry Party. Any poems containing ‘offensive material’ will be disqualified. Judgement of ‘offensive material’ will be made by the library.
