Dr. Mark L. Hopkins believes the best way to teach history is through fiction-based-on-fact books. He has now written seven such books. Two are focused on the conflicts during and after the Civil War. They are entitled, Journey to Gettysburg and The Wounds of War.
Journey to Gettysburg replays the events leading up to the most important battle of the Civil War. The Wounds of War is a sequel that continues the story of the Mason family of Virginia. It is the story of valor in the face of overwhelming odds, ingenuity when such was absolutely necessary for survival, of family when clinging together was an absolute necessity for life itself.
Join us as Mark discusses his books, continuing a series of craft discussion from local writers, focusing on writing the sequel. Copies of his books will be available for purchase and light refreshments will be provided.
