Celebration Closing: Poe’s Afterlife in Popular Culture
Presented by Dr. Scott Peeples, College of Charleston, with a Reception Following.

Dr. Peeples has published numerous essays on nineteenth-century American literature and two books, Edgar Allan Poe Revisited (1998) and The Afterlife of Edgar Allan Poe (2004), which won the Patrick F. Quinn Award from the Poe Studies Association. He co-edited the journal Poe Studies from 2008-2012, and is currently co-editing the Oxford Handbook to Edgar Allan Poe, a landmark volume of scholarship with over 40 contributors. He recently served as a consultant and on-screen interview subject for Edgar Allan Poe: Buried Alive, a film slated for broadcast on PBS within the next year. He has also been interviewed for stories on Poe in the New York Times, Boston Globe, and the Baltimore Sun.
