Summer Reading

Blast Off with Summer Reading!

Blast off into reading

Participating in Summer Reading at the Anderson County Library System is free and easy! To get started,

1. Register and track your reading online.
Register any time, then track your reading from June 1 to July 31.  Paper forms are also available at your local library.

2.  Complete your reading by July 31.
To complete the Summer Reading program, meet the goal for your age category:
Listeners (ages birth – 5):  10 books.
Readers (ages 6 – 12), Teens (ages 12-18), and Adults (ages 18+):  10 books or 10 hours of reading.

3. Attend performances and events at your local library each week.
Check the calendar for free events for kids, teens, and adults.

4. Earn prizes and a chance at a grand prize by reading!
Listeners and Readers: Complete the program for a medal, certificate and a ticket voucher to the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars game. Listeners will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a LeapPad Ultimate. Readers will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a Kindle Fire.

Teens: After 5 books or hours, get a pair of earbuds from Penguin Random House. After completing the program (10 hours or 10 books), get a ticket voucher for the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars game AND an entry into the drawing for a grand prize bag that includes a $50 gift card and other goodies.

Adults: earn one entry into the grand prize drawing for a gift card after reaching the goal. Additional drawings will be held for other prizes and books (including Advanced Reader Copies).

Summer Reading is supported by the Friends of the Anderson County Library.  This project is made possible by a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the South Carolina State Library.
