Chasing After Perfect: A Discussion

Join us for a discussion of this year's Books & Community pick, (Don't) Call Me Crazy by Kelly Jensen, and learn why striving to do your best is better than striving for perfection. 

In today's age of social media, teens are more pressured than ever to be perfect; they strive to be perfect students, perfect children, perfect people. However, perfection is impossible for anyone, and the longer we focus on being perfect, the more our mental health declines. Come read an excerpt from (Don't) Call Me Crazy titled "Meeting Disorder" by Jessica Tremaine (pg. 88 in the paperback book) and discuss the harmful nature of perfectionism, how to combat the pressures of today's society, and why doing your best will always be better than being perfect. Feel free to add to the discussion, or just hear from your fellow peers.
