Ending Stigma Starts with a Conversation
This 2.5-hour, interactive workshop aims to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorder (SUD) by fostering open and compassionate conversation. Participants will have the opportunity to explore stigma and its impact, as well as how we can better support individuals with SUD and their families. The workshop features recorded interviews with people who have lived through substance use disorder, including several from South Carolina, to provide insight into their experiences of addiction and recovery. Using these portraits and videos, attendees will engage in discussions, facilitating a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those affected by SUD. The goal is to build empathy and work together as a community to reduce stigma and foster support.
